October 2011, Chef Ry (Rylen Sato) together with his mom (Leo) and dad (Pat) started making gourmet popcorn in an old Quizzno’s store in Sand Island, Honolulu. Starting with only a dozen flavors they hit the few Christmas fairs left that year.

In January of 2012, they opened Primo Popcorn on Sand Island. Now with over 100 flavors, Chef Ry is still constantly working on more flavors. “We believe popcorn should taste awesome” is not just a registered trade mark, they’re the words we live by everyday.
